Our Family Legacy
We are the Laughrey family—Matt and Kendall, along with our three children, Kase, Kenna, and Holt. Hoss Beef was born out of our deep-rooted love for the land, cattle, and the values passed down from previous generations. Our story began on Matt’s father’s ranch, where a passion for ranching first took hold, inspired by his grandfather, Claude “Hoss” England, in Oklahoma.
After years of raising beef for our own family, we launched Hoss Beef in 2023 to share the same quality with our community here in Poolville, Texas. With Matt being from Weatherford and Kendall from Aledo, our family has strong ties to Parker County, and we’re proud to call it home. Today, we’re focused on raising a Red Angus-based herd, with an emphasis on genetic excellence and producing beef that stands out for both flavor and tenderness.
Though ranching isn’t our full-time business, it’s a way of life we’re passionate about and hope to pass down to our children. Every cut of beef we produce reflects our commitment to quality, our respect for the land, and our dedication to doing things the right way. What started as a small family operation has grown thanks to the support of our community, and we’re excited to continue sharing our story—one meal at a time.
